We are pleased to announce our 26th annual
COUNTYWIDE POETRY CONTEST
February 15 through March 31, 2008
Four divisions of competition:
· Grades five and six
· Middle school
· High school
· Adult
Rules of the contest:
1) You must be a
resident of Comal County or New Braunfels or must be attending
school in either the NBISD or CISD;
2) You may submit a total of two entries;
3) Each poem must have a minimum of eight lines, and must be
contained on one side of one 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper;
4) The poem must be typewritten, without decoration on the page;
5) The poem may be on any subject, in any style except limerick;
6) The poem may not have been previously published or performed
publicly;
7) The poet’s name, address, phone number, and grade (if a
student) must be typed on the back of the poem only.
8) Any disqualified entry may be resubmitted, if the
disqualifying error can be remedied by the deadline.
9) All entries must be postmarked not later than
March 31, 2008.
Cash prizes and
complimentary passes to arts events will be awarded at the
GNBAC’s general membership meeting on April 22, when the winners
will have the privilege of reading their awarded poetry.
